holy mc-moly!

So that big comp that I've been mentioning that Miss 9 is supposed to be doing next month, is $110 per entry.  She has both an artistic and a singles program, so that would make $220 in entry fees.

Since my significant other gets paid monthly, and the due date for the entries is this coming Monday (the day before he gets paid!) it's safe to say that she isn't going to be competing in that competition.  We could enter her late, but with a double entry fee ($220 per entry, so $440 total) it's just not going to happen.

To add salt to the wound, she can't even pay for it herself even if she wanted to - that's because over the weekend we were burgled.

Amongst other things, they stole Miss 9's wallet, with all her birthday money in it, and both girls money boxes :(

Stinkers :(

She passed

Yes she did.
She kicked ass.
She rocked.

Miss 9 officially passed her Preliminary Skating Test last week.  I was so incredibly proud - I cried like a big baby.  I couldn't hold back the tears.  The look of joy on her face was just priceless - honestly you could see how proud she was of herself.  She kept saying "I can't believe I passed" like it was all a dream - but it wasn't!

So, now I can concentrate on finishing off her costumes for the next big Competition, which is end of this month I think (or maybe it's beginning of next month), it's during school holidays in any case.

I can't wait to see her concentrate on something other than the god-forsaken pattern she needed to do to pass this test!

Ice Skates are here!!

Miss 8's new ice skates finally arrived from Canada last week, after waiting since 17 June!!

I was so thrilled on Friday when she had her first lesson in about 3 months. She listened beautifully. She tried everything that was asked of her and she was listening attentively. I was really pleased, since her attention span can be either fantastic or completely goldfish-like.

I'm hoping that soon she'll be able to get a programme done, so I can make her a beautiful costume. It's been so long since she did any competitions, I really miss it.
